Cody Ko issued his first statement since the allegations made against him by Tana Mongeau.

On an episode of the Cancelled podcast uploaded last month, Mongeau, now 26, accused the 33-year-old Canadian YouTuber of sleeping with her while she was underage.

“I hooked up with Cody Ko when I was 17 and he was 25. Yeah, it happened,” Tana said at the 1:10:04 mark in the video below.

She also claimed that fellow YouTube star Gabbie Hanna, now 33, warned Ko during a Playlist Live convention that Mongeau was still 17 years old, but he still allegedly hooked up with her.

“I can look at that and be, like, ‘Why the fuck were you doing that?’ But there isn’t a part of me at 25 now—I mean, I look back and I would never do anything like that. So I’m like, ‘What the fuck was wrong with you?’” Mongeau added.

Dexerto reports that Ko has lost over 300,000 subscribers on his main channel. He has not uploaded any videos there despite regularly posting on his secondary channel, Cody & Ko.

TMG (Tiny Meat Gang) Studios, an L.A.-based podcast network Variety reports was founded by Ko and Noel Miller in 2021, released a statement that was also shared with the company’s employees announcing that Ko “will not be involved in the day-to-day operations.”

“What has transpired over the past few weeks is a personal issue for him, and Cody wants to remove any effect this is having on your professional and personal lives and the work you and our other hosts have done to make TMG Studios so successful,” read the statement signed by both Ko and Miller.

The note adds that Miller will continue to lead the team, but does not clarify if Ko still remains with the company in any other capacity. The allegations made by Mongeau are not directly referenced in the letter.
