The Philadelphia Eagles saw their 2023 season end sooner than expected.
Despite being one of the best teams in the league during the first half of the year, the wheels started to fall off the bus for this team, limping into the playoffs.
They ended up losing in the Wild Card round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, causing them to reevaluate and try and get right for the 2024 season.
Several things could have contributed to the Eagles’ downfall last year, but many analysts have come back to Jalen Hurts and his performances throughout the year.
Hurts is often compared to other quarterbacks around the league, which seems to be a common trend with analysts.
Because of the Eagles’ frequent battles with the Dallas Cowboys, he is frequently compared to Dak Prescott.
While Prescott’s standing in the public has waned in recent years, there is a belief that he is better than Hurts in several ways.
James Jones talked about this in a recent appearance on ‘Speak’ on FS1.
“There’s nothing that Jalen Hurts does better than Dak Prescott at the QB spot but the read option, and maybe the tush push,” Jones said.

In his mind, Prescott is a better passer, a better decision-maker, and an all-around better quarterback.
Hurts has been in the MVP conversation in recent seasons, which would indicate that he’s a better quarterback than Jones gives him credit for.
However, at the end of the day, quarterbacks tend to be measured by their wins in high-pressure situations, something neither Hurts nor Prescott have done a lot of in their careers to date.
