Hit-Boy shared the unfortunate news yesterday (Oct. 23) that his father Big Hit is back in prison.
The producer posted a video of Big Hit speaking from a jail phone and sharing appreciation for his fans. “It’s free Big Hit, my n—a,” he said. “You know what I’m saying, I f—k with my real fans, my n—a. If y’all f—ing with me, go ‘head and download my CDs and cash out on my merch.”
His son, Hit-Boy also shared a caption explaining why he and his pops were making so much music this past year. “People used to ask me what was I on dropping so much music and moving around with my pops so much,” he began to explain, “In the back of my mind, the paranoia of him going back was always there and here we are. We don’t know what the future holds but Big Hit sends his love to all his supporters. He recorded over 700 songs when he was out so we got more music otw.”
Hit-Boy and Big Hit have been making impressive music since the elder Hit was released from prison in May of 2023. The 53-year-old served a 15-year sentence in federal prison after being caught with 10 kilos of cocaine, 10 guns, and $300,000 in cash while his son was growing up, according to a Men’s Health profile. He then found himself back inside for a 12-year sentence for a crime connected to a hit-and-run accident six years after he got out.
Since Big Hit came home, he and his son released three projects: Surf or Drown, Vol. 2, Paisley Dreams featuring The Game, and Black & Whites featuring The Alchemist.
