Many football fans are very excited to see this year’s NFL draft class in action once the new season starts in a couple of months.

That class includes several potential-laden quarterbacks, starting with Caleb Williams, who has been described as a generational talent.

Williams was taken by the Chicago Bears with the No. 1 pick in April’s draft, and he will have a suddenly talent-rich offensive roster around him that should help fast-track his development at the next level.

Teammate Jaylon Johnson said on NFL Network that Williams’ arm talent stands out and that his attitude and humility have been great so far.

“He’s just different.  He stands out,” Johnson said.

In two seasons at the University of Southern California, Williams threw for 8,170 yards and 72 touchdowns while adding 21 more touchdowns on the ground in 26 games.

He has the ability to ad-lib when a designed play breaks down, but he should have plenty of opportunities to simply go through his progressions and hit the open man in Chicago, given the playmakers around him.

He will have six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen, another Pro Bowl-caliber wideout in D.J. Moore and a potential future star receiver in Rome Odunze, the No. 9 pick in this year’s draft.

Of course, there is no guarantee Williams will become a star in the NFL, and there is always the chance he even becomes a bust, but he seems to be in an environment that will be conducive to his success.

The Bears could very well play well and make the playoffs right out of the gate, especially if Williams has a strong rookie season.
