R&B veterans Joe, Eric Benét, and Musiq Soulchild are headlining the R&B Invitation Tour, presented by North American Entertainment Group.
The North American leg kicks off Feb. 14, 2025, at the Altria Theater in Richmond, Virginia, and will conclude the Valentine’s Day weekend celebration on Feb. 15 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
The tour will resume on March 8 in Las Vegas, with additional stops in Baltimore, Dallas, St. Louis, Brooklyn, and Chicago, before wrapping up on May 10 at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.
According to North American Entertainment Group, more dates are scheduled to be announced.
The news comes after Benét’s steamy single, “Something We Can Make Love To” with Tamar Braxton, reaches a new peak on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. In its 14th week, the sultry track, produced by Laney Stewart, posts at No. 5.
“Something We Can Make Love To” is from Benét’s Duets project, which was released on Aug. 23 via his label, JBR Creative Group.
Benét’s Duets also features collaborations with Chanté Moore, Corinne Bailey Rae, LaTocha and Ledisi.
“If I look back on my entire career, I think my duets were some of the most powerful songs,” Benét told Rated R&B. “For the past 10 years, it’s always been in the back of my mind, like, ‘Yo, one of these days, I need to do a whole album where it’s all duets.’ This seems the perfect opportunity because I haven’t had a project out in like eight years.”
Benét added, “So if I’m going to come out after such a long time, don’t come out the same way, come out different.”
Joe is currently booked through North American Entertainment Group as he is co-headlining a fall tour with Tamia. This autumn leg comes amid demand from its spring trek.
In 2016, Joe released his final album, #MyNameIsJoeThomas. The project debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 and included the No. 1 single “So I Can Have You Back.”
Of his last album, Joe said, “Many artists at times say that their current project is their best piece of work to date. However, I can honestly say that this truly is not only my best, but one of my favorite discs ever. I put my heart and soul into the creation and performance of this record, and I can only hope that I am giving fans what they wish for in a Joe record.”
As for Musiq Soulchild, the neo-soul legend had a great year in his genre thanks to the success of Victims & Villains, a collaborative album with super-producer Hit-Boy.
When asked what he wants listeners to take away from the project, Soulchild told Rated R&B, “I want them to have an open mind. I don’t want them to feel like it’s supposed to be this or that. You rob yourself of the experience when you do that. There’s enough on this project for a multitude of demographics to appreciate. I’m just trying to introduce the concept that some artists want to do more than what you know them for.”
Victims & Villains was featured at No. 7 on Rated R&B’s 25 Best R&B Albums of 2023 list. Soulchild also collaborated with Angie Stone (“The Gym“) and Destin Conrad (“To This Day“) last year.
