Musical duo Louis York has teamed up with Jamaican artist Gramps Morgan for their new single “Have A Little Light.”
On this uplifting track, Claude Kelly of Louis York and Gramps sing about how positive energy can attract positive outcomes — even a little light can go a long way.
“If you have a little light in the morning / Have a little in the afternoon / Have a little light in the evening / Watch how the world opens up to you,” they sing in the chorus.
“Have A Little Light” is the fourth single from Louis York’s upcoming second album, Songs With Friends, out Aug. 30 via Weirdo Workshop.
“This song is the heart and soul of our new album, Songs With Friends. Gramps Morgan is one of the first people we met when we relocated to Nashville, and we knew right away it would lead to something big,” says Claude Kelly.
He continues, “‘Have A Little Light’ is a call to action to focus on the bright side of life. On a personal note, this song has allowed me to return home to my Jamaican roots, and I couldn’t be more proud!”
Gramps Morgan adds, “Ever since the first day I met these two brothers, it’s been a dream of working with them. Finally, it’s coming to pass. Their vision and expertise within the music experience is bar none, and it is definitely reflected in this song.”
“Have A Little Light” is the follow-up to Louis York’s “Puppet Strings” with PJ Morton, “Three Little Words” with Tamia, “Alone A Lot” with Anthony Hamilton and “Heaven Bound” with Jessie J.
Before releasing “Have A Little Light,” Louis York released an acoustic video of “Heaven Bound” — and the mics were on.
Songs With Friends is the follow-up to Louis York’s debut album, American Griots, which was featured on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2019 list.
