The Denver Broncos headed into the 2024 NFL season with many questions surrounding the quarterback position, as the team had three quarterbacks on the roster who could arguably be starters on other teams around the league.
Although veteran Jarrett Stidham seemed to be the obvious choice to be the starter right out of the gate for head coach Sean Payton this season, the one-time Super Bowl champion chose to go with rookie Bo Nix instead, which was a surprising and bold move.
Ultimately, Payton went with Nix, and the decision seems to be the right one, with the Broncos playing better than expected after seven games, as Denver is sporting a record of 4-3.
With Nix seemingly being the undisputed leader under center in Denver moving forward, the Broncos have been getting trade calls from other teams with interest in Stidham and Zach Wilson, according to Payton via Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports.
Sean Payton indicated teams have reached out to the Broncos about potentially trading for one of their backup QBs with the trade deadline approaching.

The NFL trade deadline is on Nov. 5, and it remains to be seen if the Broncos will be one of the active teams heading toward the deadline, as the squad could take advantage of the situation by shipping one of their backup quarterbacks elsewhere to address other needs on the roster.
In seven games to start his NFL career in Denver, Nix has thrown for 1,246 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions while also rushing for 255 yards and three touchdowns on 47 carries.
Although these aren’t eye-popping stats from the rookie quarterback, Payton and company seem content with him as their starter, moving forward, as he could have a bright future in Denver.
